Background
Early Life (10 BBY–8 ABY)
Krieg Inrokana was born in 10 BBY deep in the mountains on Corellia; a land full of crystal lakes, majestic mountains, green trees, rolling fields, and pleasurable temperatures. His family taught him many things about the world, and though there is much progress in it to always keep the beauty. They were always very close, quiet, and observant, holding true to the emotions that bound them as one. This quiet reverence taught Krieg the importance of observation which held for his family the feeling of a connection to a greater power. His parents, Julia and Victor Inrokana, were keen to teach him the ways of nature and how to handle himself. Victor Inrokana had been friends with Danik Kreldin in school, but has kept that point very quiet. Nonetheless, they both taught him about chivalry, honor, and order. The galaxy was a chaotic place; it is our place to make order and bring light to the darkness. That was daily life in his household; there were constant debates about war being politics by other means, the rules of war, and the necessities of having to go to war. Never in any of their discussions, however, did they talk about the possibility of that same war might someday be brought upon their household.
Growing up Krieg was able to also pursue what he enjoyed doing the most - flying. As a small child he used to be utterly fascinated with all sorts of ships and vessels. Eventually he was able to go to the swoop races, accompanied by his father where he dreamed to be one of them. Their lifestyle of living in the mountains and the raging war was not very conducive to this however, so young Krieg was only able to spend many hours in simulators. When he did get to race he was with the best; there was no doubt he could have become one of the best racers on Corellia if it were not for the one fateful day in 6 ABY.
Riot on Coruscant in 6 ABY
A riot had broken out near the starting point to the racetrack; Krieg and his father were caught in the middle of it. The dispute was over whether Corellia should be a part of the New Republic or the Empire, and from what Krieg saw the pro-republic group had started the whole thing. They became witness that day to nearly 275 deaths, and they could do nothing to stop it. His father condemned the incident and used it as an example for their family’s belief in order, which up until that day he didn't fully understand. This event traumatized Krieg, and for two years thereafter he did not fly nor did he ever go to a swoop race thereafter; instead he devoted all his time to study and physical strengthening. For years his parents watched his anger almost consume him in his dedication to strengthening himself.
It wasn’t until he was eighteen that his parents recommended him to go to the Imperial Academy on Corellia, where he could fly and be able to bring order to the galaxy. They hoped this would cure him of his anger that they plainly saw, but to everyone else it was Krieg kept it hidden deep within. In their opinion and Krieg's this also was the only way he could prevent such acts of violence from occurring ever again and right the wrong that had been done. He did not agree with the Empire’s entire doctrine, but he knew from what his parents taught him the only way to change something was to become a part of it.
Academy Years (8 ABY–13 ABY)
Being accepted to the prestigious star fighter command academy on Corellia, Krieg quickly set out to excel during his five years there. His scores were among the best of all the students, as everything they learned here pertained to star fighters and piloting. In his fifth and final year there he entered into the flight portion where he was trained in various training craft, and yet again he excelled. Some of his fellow students were known to comment that Krieg would sit quietly and watch for hours different tasks or actions and then be able to perform the same task with never having done it before. Graduating was an enabler for Krieg, the years at the academy serving little more than fueling the hidden anger within. His first assignment was to the ICC Dauntless in Lightning Squadron to be a TIE Interceptor pilot.
First Assignment (13 ABY–14 ABY)
His first combat was seen in the role of Lightning 4, a TIE Interceptor, where rebel forces attacked the Imperial task force around Corellia. Not long after this engagement, he was involved in another battle where rebel forces ambushed the ICC Dauntless and ISD Conqueror near Corellia. This took the task force to neutral Etti IV, where he made a new friend on the station there, Kyrie Shadona. Unbeknownst to him at the time she was a rebel officer and he was playing with a dangerous emotion: love. It wasn’t until the fates of battle during the rebel attack on Imperial forces where her ship blew and her escape pod was recovered by the ISD Conqueror did he find out. Being held prisoner, he was able to meet her a few times, but was questioned about his motives. During the following battle he found himself tackled in a tractor beam and was attacked by several enemy fighters. With his training and skill he was able to pull free just before becoming space dust.
In a series of events Krieg found Kyrie had mysteriously disappeared and the fact she was a rebel officer and had betrayed his trust finally hit him. Betrayal was new to him and the anger within him was now mixed with this new emtion, but again it was only known to him. That battle marked the end of the Second Battle of Etti IV, and to which the awards ceremony held on Guritsan would have him finding himself with many new medals and awards, including a promotion to Lieutenant JG. Not long after this high command transferred all the Lightning Squadron pilots over to War Shrike Squadron. This was a marked improvement and a step up for the pilots as they were receiving TIE Interceptor Mk II's, which had the additional shields on them. They also began training in Scimitar Assault Bombers for the upcoming battle planned at Grinndal.
Early Career (14 ABY)
Battle of Todell
His commander Lieutenant Seifer Wolf transferred to War Shrike Squadron and was in charge of training all the pilots to their new status. Also during this time Krieg was selected to be the Executive officer (XO) for the squadron. During the training phase Krieg was assigned a Weapons Systems Officer (WSO), Blitz, while flying in a Scimitar Assault Bomber. The two became quite the pair and were known to be rather aggressive at their flying techniques.
The ICC Dauntless during this time was stationed in Todell to protect Orbital Station Guardian while the rest of the fleet went out on maneuvers in preparation for the assault of Grinndal. The New Republic launched their attack upon the station at this time, leading to the Battle of Todell where Krieg valiantly attempted to defend the station from attack. Being outnumbered their efforts managed to save the ICC Dauntless but not the Orbital station.
Rescue of Danik Kreldin
It wasn't long after this battle that Danik Kreldin, their commander, went missing and Imperial Intelligence was able to find out that he had been captured. During the Rescue of Danik Kreldin Krieg was flying with Blitz in a Scimitar Assault Bomber and landed on Tatooine to assist. During the battle they encountered the Jedi Johanna who deceived Tanis Cadell, a stormtrooper, who attempted to stop Imperial forces. With no other choice Krieg fired upon the rogue stormtrooper; missing. Tanis, however, did not miss and gave Krieg serious injuries. Dr. Cassius stepped in, and with superior medical techniques was able to stabilize Krieg and eventually completely heal his wounds. The rescue was a success, with Blitz stepping in for Krieg.
Second Battle of Grinndal
After recovering, Krieg was fit to fly for the Second Battle of Grinndal. During the first half of the battle he was flying in War Shrike II, where he accumulated several kills and was able to defend the Scimitar Bombers. Later in the battle, he joined with Blitz once again in their bomber, Darksword II. They were able to take out the remaining enemy craft and fight off New Republic relief forces.
15 ABY History
Early Duty
Coming Unglued
Between the several battles against the New Republic and the encounter with the Jedi on Tatooine, Krieg was getting rather angry at the ignorance, or at least what he thought, of the New Republic. Johanna wasn't the only Jedi he met, and on a short leave to Coruscant he spoke with Ai'kani, another Jedi. Trying to get a better feel for the war between the Empire and the New Republic about the order of the Galaxy and what he felt was why either faction existed. The Empire, to Krieg, was a way of Order, providing protection to its citizens and keeping law and order was superior to the New Republic who could not maintain order with their timid policies. True, he did not agree with the methods often employed by the Empire to seek order, he still supported it as the methods of the New Republic were too weak to even fend off the Empire, let alone its own citizens. Ai'kani threw his notion of order back into his face and telling him that the Empire needed to be destroyed and that no order in the New Republic was better than having order in a civilized society. After this meeting it rather put Krieg over the edge, and in meeting with Jal'Dana Rall on Guritsan he almost came unglued. This is the first time anyone was able to see the boiling over of anger that flowed within him, and is the point were the Jedi first earned his absolute scorn.
Guritsan Day
His meeting with Jal'Dana Rall outwardly changed him somewhat, and with a new vigor he realized that the Empire, though brutal, did give order and structure to a chaotic galaxy. The New Republic, he concluded, did not know what order and structure they would give the galaxy and in not knowing such hurt the galaxy more than they helped it. He did agree more with some of the New Republic approaches, but he could not ever see himself supporting a waffling organization. Through power, he realized, victory and order are gained, and to acquire power required strength. Soon after the Guritsan Day games were being held, and he signed up to participate in the Guritsan Day Space Race. During the race he took an early lead, but soon fell behind. After hitting the Star Destroyer on the course, he lost a lot of distance from the lead craft. Entering the mock Death Star at full speed he couldn't keep control and crashed, but was able to take third place in the race. His display of anger to a superior officer was still on his mind, a contributing factor if not the most significant to his crash. This awakened him to the constant need of maintaining his outward composure at all times while keeping his rage deep within, using that rage to motivate him to do better; a move that would propel him forward in his Imperial career.
Front Line Duty
Grand Admiral's Quest / War Tactics School
Upon the personal request of Grand Admiral Danik Kreldin, Krieg was brought along to recover an artifact of great importance to Danik. Along with Antoine Dareus, a fellow starfighter pilot and Wescal Cantrell, a Mandalorian Supersoldier, they stormed the Throne Room on Coruscant. Retrieving the artifact, they left by jumping on a waiting transport. Their endeavors then lead them to the Valley of the Damned on Ord Trasi. He volunteered to stay outside the temple they encountered with a squad of soldiers until the Grand Admiral and his team returned. At the outset of the operation he was selected to attend War Tactics School; this was also due to his command and strategic use of stormtroopers. His month long schooling taught him about new fighter tactics and a new strategy the Empire wanted to employ: A surgical strike package employing maximum firepower with minimum manpower. This new training would allow Krieg the opportunity to train new pilots and ground forces the leading edge in Imperial tactics.
Rescue of Captain Cassius
Coming back to War Shrike Squadron as an attached pilot from War Tactics School, he quickly fell back into pace with being a fighter pilot. His additional duty of training commenced for the squadron aboard the Broadsword. What was unusual this time was the presence of the newly formed Black Squadron (not to be confused with the Black Stars Squadron alongside the Shrikes. While an instructor, he resumed his duties as the XO of War Shrike Squadron. In an incident where a man, Torin Vorl, tried to take the Broadsword and destroy it to serve his own goals Krieg assisted by disabling the ships engines. Shortly thereafter once repairs were completed, Captain Cassius was kidnapped; Krieg assumed command of War Shrike Squadron temporarily while their commander was on other assignments. The Broadsword went on recon work around the planet Dac in the Calamari system. Gathering data there, the War Shrikes along with the Black Squadron determined that Captain Cassius was taken to Coruscant aboard the NRSD Reprisal.
For the battle at Coruscant to retrieve Captain Cassius, Krieg developed the war plan used against the New Republic. He led War Shrike Squadron into the heat of the battle; however, the New Republic did not respond to Black Squadron's or the Broadsword's attacks on their flanks. Instead a full out prejudiced assault was unleased upon the War Shrikes. The 12 fighters were quickly outnumbered by 2 full X-Wing squadrons, 1 A-Wing squadron, 1 Patrol of 4 X-Wings from Ghost Squadron and an A-Wing from Falcon Squadron, and further A-Wings in reserve. In their valliant attempts to stay alive and stave off the multiple missile waves they were able to take down over a full squadron of enemy craft; however, the price was great. Black Squadron attempted to rescue the War Shrikes, but could not arrive in time. Only four craft survived the attack and were all severely damaged. The strike team successfully rescued Captain Cassius and departed in a shuttle allowing the Broadsword and the Prowler time to move in to the rescue. As the last craft to be recovered by the Broadsword, Krieg was badly hit taking out his shield generator and severing the right wing. He was able to make the flight deck at the expense of his other wing while the rest of his craft impacted with two fighters on the main deck.
Coruscant Blockade
Since the rescue of Captain Cassius and his crash landing afterward, Krieg was recovering from minor injuries acquired. He was assigned to draw up improvements and strategies in maintaining the blockade around Coruscant. During this time he has been working within the squadron on routine patrols enforcing the blockade. In their first skirmish with New Republic forces, he and Loki engaged the X-Wings of Luke Skywalker and Kyrin Sh'vani. They managed to damage the freighter and the enemy craft, at the loss of two TIE Interceptor Mk II's. After this encounter, Petra Doom called upon him to report the details of the mission and the status of War Shrike Squadron. Her encouragements not to fail spurred him to devise a new strategy for taking on runners of the blockade, the use of Scimitar Assault Bombers.
While conducting a patrol not long after the change to the new tactic, they encountered a freighter, the Camerata Ostile piloted by Shael Winters trying to run the blockade. Along with the freighter came 4 X-Wings as escort commanded by Kyrin Sh'vani. This encounter became known as the Camerata Ostile Blockade Run as they were able to destroy all the fighters, confiscate the freighter with its medical supplies and capture the one pilot who ejected, Kyrin Sh'vani. Once the freighter had been brought aboard, Krieg was sent aboard to question the pilot. His unusual courtesy during questioning left Shael unharmed, untouched, and released to her ship which was sent emptied to Coruscant. Not long after this Kyrin Sh'vani was broken by Korynn Fleming in which she divluged imporant information allowing for the ambush of a major New Republic blockade run. Leading War Shrike Squadron into battle once again, they were able to completely destroy and put an end to the New Republic's blockade runs.
Retribution of Coruscant
With the New Republic's suspension of the Shado Kolpo blockade runs, it was time for the Empire to put an end to the long wait. The Imperial Navy was sent in on the signal by Warlord Korlov, thus beginning the Retribution of Coruscant. He engaged in several battles, some smaller than others, taking the New Republic full on. Initial entanglements put him one on one with Aramis Tyrese flying an A-Wing fighter. During these engagements he challenged any New Republic pilot to try and shoot him down. During one battle alongside the Grand Admiral he shot down Hase Stargazer, a member of Ghost Squadron, while covering the Grand Admiral's retreat. Not long thereafter he was engaged again, this time shooting down and killing Seth Skyler in his A-Wing. In the next battle, however, the New Republic launched an assault bent on killing their illustrious leader, to which they succeeded. This set the Empire back, but the battle over Coruscant was far from over.
The Imperial leadership, angry at the loss of their Grand Admiral, quickly set out plans to finish the battle over Coruscant. Their plan is set into motion when an Imperial TIE strays too close to the battle lines and the New Republic engages. Krieg is sent out with War Shrike Squadron to engage any craft attempting to leave the system. He shoots down multiple X-Wings on his way in and is able to disable a transport before New Republic gunships enter the scene. Imperial Marauder corvettes enter in response, but one New Republic gunship strays into a kill zone of his squadron. Engaging the gunship alone his first run strikes some damage at the loss of his shields. His second run, however, manages to land a blow that overloads the reactor. He continues to fight on, engaging every New Republic fighter that comes under his guns, destroying every last one he engages. The battle eventually comes to a close, securing Coruscant in the hands of the Empire once again.
The Inquisition
After Coruscant, he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and given two major commands, the first being that of his squadron; the second command was that of CAG aboard the HIMS Inquisitor. This placed him in charge of all flight operations off the ship as well as its six fighter squadrons. Grand Admiral Danik Kreldin's will left many personal items to those he knew best, thus Krieg received a R6-Series astromech droid. The droid, R6-F1, became a reminder to Krieg of the late Admiral and the lessons he taught, using the droid to assist in his newfound duties around the I2SD Inquisitor. With the New Republic no longer posing a threat, he took the HIMS Prowler out on recon and scouting work for the Task Force searching for any remnants of resistance.
Swoop Racing
During the time spent away from the fleet he along with his pilots on the HIMS Prowler were able to take some much needed leave. Finding swoop races on a neutral world attractive, it was decided they would spend their time there. During during this time he flirted with love, meeting once again a woman by the name of Shael Winters. This time instead of competing in space combat they were upon a track racing swoops for the grand prize. Initially he was only there to watch, but somehow she convinced him to buy a swoop and race. Powerful emotions were flowing through him and somewhere in it all he bought a swoop, calling it the Airwolf. Anger, fear, and the aggression to win exuded through him making him feel more alive than he thought possible, he shocked all who watched winning his fisrt race. At the end of leave another unlikely event happened - the re-emergence of Danik Kreldin and Sandor Woden, this time asking for help to get off planet. Always having trusted and looked up to the older man he obliged, but only to go so far as dropping him off on Corellia and without any knowledge of what the man had done to be hunted.
The Treachery of Danik Kreldin
In late 15 ABY the thought to have died Danik Kreldin contacted him once again via holovid - this time about taking the throne from the Emperor Vadim. The emotions of his role model and mentor being alive were still flowing quite powerfully through him, muddling his thoughts. He was told the plan was approved at the highest levels of the military, to which he figured amounted to a test from the old Grand Admiral. Somewhat foolishly he listened to the plan, but remained highly skeptical and stayed at a vast distance from Corellia, Kreldin's estate and originating location of the coup. When the truth was revealed by an informant to the ISB that Kreldin really did intend to topple the throne Krieg remained at a distance and watched as the ranks were being purged from top to bottom. Betrayal from the highest level hit him - Lynae Cassius and Antoine Dareus being two close commanders and friends were among those that were involved and exiled. To add injury to insult, he learned not long after that Kreldin killed his entire family on Corellia, taking the land for himself. The anger and rage Krieg felt surpassed anything he had ever felt before, driving him into a passion to seek out and kill any traitor.
Still bound to contain his rage to anyone that may meet him he was questioned by the ISB as to his interaction with the supreme traitor. Clearly stating his side of the story and his willingness to assist the ISB in the scouring of the empire of this disease he was cleared by sector director Korynn Fleming himself. Returning to a broken command structure, the new CO of the I2SD Inquisitor and assistant to Task Force Inquisitor's Commander Admiral Doom, Line Captain Jal'Dana Rall promoted him to head of starfighter operations for the entire Task Force. His predecessor had apparently committed suicide, but whatever the circumstance was Krieg now had the power to seek retribution of his own. The rage and anger within continuing to build exponentially and enabling him to do things he never thought possible.
Starfighter Corps Command
With the foul taste of Kredlin's treachery still in their mouths Krieg reassigned all the pilots of War Shrike squadron to other squadrons as it had been Kredlin's premier squadron. This left all the squadrons on equal ground, and also started the competition between the squadrons for the title of the premier elite unit.
After gaining information that there were still supporters of Kredlin's movement, he sat down with the leadership of the Task Force to include Darth Malign, and Sector Director Fleming. It was agreed upon to send teams to the last three strongholds of traitors to search out the last remnant of the movement. One month later, after learning that the movement was calling themselves apart of the new Neo-Empire they had gained all the information they needed. The two smaller garrisons were evacuated by the traitors to consolidate at Garrison Vexed, the focal point for Task Force Inquisitor's efforts. In one massive strike the Task Force engaged the traitors and annihilated them in what was to be known as the Battle for Purification. He led the starfighter corps into battle and at one point fought off Ghost Squadron, who had entered the combat accidentally while on patrol. The battle's end result was a total success and it eliminated any further threats of treason.
Not long after the last major engagement he re-organized the Starfighter Corps Roster, moving the long famed War Shrike and Darksword squadrons off the HIMS Inquisitor and back aboard the HIMS Broadsword. This move allowed him to form Razor and Widowmaker squadrons, a move to strengthen the Task Force with new blood. During this time he teamed up with Line Captain Jal'Dana Rall and offered Razor Squadron live fire training. This training event kicked off a series of training exercises throughout the force, designed to re-sharpen the skills dulled in several major engagements.
Losses over several battles and several other factors led to his decision to send the Starfighter Corps back into training which also coincided with the movement of the force back over Guritsan. During this time at home he was assigned a new assistant by Line Captain Jal'Dana Rall, Lieutenant Vextin Mandor. His assistance with fleet tactics and instruction became invaluable as the fighting forces trained up to what was going to be a major offense for the pending New Year. During this time he gave a lecture on Imperial leadership to all that could attend in preparation for the pending promotions of many within the ranks. Not long after he unleashes the firepower of the starfighter corps on a decommissioned space station for training. At the same time the station is being assaulted an ISB agent, Dreven Mercurio, is aboard assigned to retrieve information and escape before it is destroyed. The Station Destruction Training]] was a live fire event and was a complete success with nobody getting hurt - a true testament to the skill and precision of the Imperial military.

Task Force Inquisitor Command
"Leave. Leave now and never come back. Know that you have met the surgical power and precision of the Empire, and you have failed. You live out of my good grace. Forlorn hope, for you have met the Empire's finest."
-Krieg to the New Republic forces after shooting down Raxis L'ygr
Along with the New Year came a change in command, Line Captain Jal'Dana Rall had seen to it that with the retirement of Admiral Petra Doom to promote within the fleet. The first of those promotions was given from Naval High Command to Jal'Dana Rall, making her a full Admiral. This left the command of Task Force Inquisitor open and Jal'Dana Rall named Krieg to be her successor. This came with a promotion to Marshal along with a new XO, Captain Keline Nelhrn. Shortly after his promotion he participated in their recent Escape and Evasion training. Under this training the pilots and troops of his new command were able to exercise their skills and demonstrate their ability in combat situations.
The conclusion of this training led to simulated interrogations by the ISB agents, also a chance for them to exercise their skills and to teach the pilots what might happen to them if they fell in the hands of the enemy. More importantly it taught the pilots how not to break while under intense interrogation.
At the end of the training Krieg had several recon and defense missions run on border planets between NR and Hutt space, the Intel to be used for future missions if needed. Upon the successful completion of a mission at Bimmissari, Krieg encountered a NR patrol lead by Raxis L'ygr. As the NR patrol showed up between his pilots and their way home he struck out, destroying Raxis's X-Wing in a single round of fire. The next week in their home system, Guritsan, a strange occurrence of an old TIE fighter showing up on the outer fringes of the system. He ordered the system closed until it could be recovered by the HIMS Inquisitor and put into quarantine, and there it stayed to be analyzed by technicians.
Imperial Gala and Awards Ceremony
"Tonight, we are here to celebrate the peace the Empire has brought and the opening of this planet to the galaxy for all to see the power the Empire commands. We are here to celebrate Coruscant, Imperial center, once again taking its place as the crown jewel in the Empire."
-Krieg addressing the crowd at the Imperial Gala
The training time for the Task Force had come to an end and he had in mind for a celebration for the force along with a promotion and awards ceremony. The HIMS Inquisitor was brought to Coruscant for the prestigious event to be held at the newly opened Imperial Museum. It was his great honor to be the host of the event, bringing in the rich and powerful to heads of state in for the event. It was a grand event, spanning the course of three days to include the gala and celebration on the first night, the awards the second, and a ball on the third. Swoop races were also held at the newly created track that traversed the city. As his guest he invited Shael Winters to the gala, it was his way of bringing her to the new swoop track to race and a thank you for brining him into the sport. At the end of the celebration it was time to get back to business as the Task Force geared up again to engage the New Republic.
Supply Depots Raided
"Do you all ever learn, will you ever stop? These attacks are futile."
-Krieg to Lance in combat
Shortly after the gala and just before the Imperial supply depots along the border began to be hit by New Republic and its allied forces. Investigating the problem, he encountered Gren Delede on a small depot raid, a hand for hire assisting the New Republic forces. Officer Molokai was engaged in combat when he entered battle. Seeing that Gren Delede was doing major damage to his fellow pilots craft he moved into the area to engage and pull the heat off of her. In doing so he took a torpedo straight on, surviving the hit but to have his solar array blown off. It could have been worse if not for his piloting skill, but he was recovered to fight another day.
The raids were becoming so much trouble that he called in Director Korynn Fleming to send out agents to investigate the raids. A couple days later he set out for the border depots, to find out what the security situation was like along with a convoy of four freighters and a CR90 Corellian Corvette. During this fight Officer Molokai was running wing for him, and it was Raxis L'ygr they managed to severely damage. In the process, however, Lance Corbet delivered a nasty blow to his engines, making his craft inoperable but quickly recovered by the retreating corvette; 2 of the freighters were able to make it away as well. He took some minor wounds after that engagement; however, none of them were serious.
"I need intelligence on where they will strike after letting them have a few more raids. Get them complacent, then we will strike out with a hidden force, bringing in an Interdictor to wipe them out."
-Krieg Inrokana to Korynn Fleming
While still trying to determine the border security status the next day in a sector much farther away he was jumped again by New Republic forces and their allies. This battle turned out better for him as he was successfully able to meet the enemy without taking a single hit. The timing was a bit too coincidental for him as the raid knew he would be along and members of Ghost Squadron showed up to engage them. Someone was watching his movements, that he was convinced. Early on in the fight his wingman Alex Dante and her Razor Squadron mixed it up with Vigilance Security Corporation Hornets, to later engage the X-Wings. During an engagement between his wingman and the then unknown Gren Delede he was forced to order Alex Dante to retreat; she had taken severe damage from the other man. Later during the fight he unknowingly forced Gren Delede into retreat followed by mixing it up with Rebecca Varn. In the end the Imperial forces only lost a single TIE Interceptor, making it aboard their Nebulon-B Frigate and leaving, but at the loss of two transports.
Meeting Captain Keline Nelhrn there was a short discussion about an Imperial politician having an affair with a New Republic spy. The decided upon resolution was to form a strike team, and covertly remove the threat.
On another mission to the border territories to institute new tactics with Captain Keline Nelhrn they make their way to Carida. Riding with a military supply convoy with bound for their final destination they are jumped by the New Republic once again. Krieg headed out to engage the enemy fighters in the battle where he is able to once again engage Lance Corbet, Kyrin Sh'vani, and Raxis L'ygr. In this encounter he damages Lance, and brings down Raxis once more. Unfortunately for their convoy they are outnumbered and are forced to fall back only able to make it out with a Neutron Star-class Bulk Cruiser, the other Cruiser and 8 transports lost to the enemy along with over a full fighter squadron. However, the transports were marked with locator beacons; Intel would be returning data on the New Republic's actions.
More than mere Raids
By this point in time, it had become readily apparent that the raids upon the border regions were not just random attacks but smaller portions of a larger New Republic operation. Krieg didn't know what the overall goals or plans of the enemy were, but he knew that they were building up supplies and gaining more and more experience in the successful raids. What he could determine was that the smaller and less defended depots were prime targets. With that in mind he set out to these depots, ordering critical supplies removed to more secure locations.
While he was at the Talasea depot where the New Republic had scouted some time before, he quickly become entangled with another raid. It was a quick strike, but one that cost the Empire nearly an entire fighter squadron and many supplies. The depot commander was relieved shortly after that raid, never to be seen again. His displeasure at losing so many supplies rising dangerously high now, Krieg saw to it that convoys were better armed. It would seem this tactic was more effective as another convoy raid was met with stiff opposition, and only one freighter was lost.
Rewards of Patience
"My Commanders, welcome. Some of you are thinking why are we just not acting on Intel gathered at a remote location? I tell you now that the Empire is taking a beating, and it is time to bring the fracking fight back to the enemy. They have grown weak and complacent, and have not seen our true power challenge them. It has been long planned that the ISB would deliver the information to make crushing and morale destroying hits upon this rebel force, and that time has come."
-Marshal Inrokana to his Commanders prior to their ambush at Dathomir
After over a month, Imperial Intelligence work had paid off. The New Republic was getting daring, and they were planning to hit the depot at Dathomir. It was remote and not as defended, but its size was larger than anything they had hit before. The exact force composition of the New Republic attack was learned as well, containing 2 Frigate squadrons along with members of Ghost and Falcon squadrons. They also learned that a cruiser squadron was being deployed to hit another depot, but that raid was a decoy for this one. Taking Task Force Inquisitor in its entirety along with another Inderdictor Cruiser, Imperator II-class Star Destroyer, and the HIMS Malevolence, Krieg launched the largest ambush to date since the fall of Coruscant. The strike was designed to show the rebels who had the power still and who was very much so in control. In preparation for this ambush the supply depot's containers had secretly been emptied and forces repositioned in system. After the ambush Krieg and he knew that his force would have to quickly pull out once the rebels were crushed for two reasons. One was that there was another depot to potentially defend should the New Republic decoy turn into a strike. The second was keeping the force away from a concentrated counter-attack.
In what would become to be known as the Dathomir Ambush on the Imperial side, Krieg had drawn in the New Republic strike force engaging the enemy with Razor Squadron. Once lured in, the enemy was totally annihilated with minor casualties to their own side. Only three enemy corvettes were able to escape, but this was not a problem as they were needed to send the clear message of who was in power back to the enemy. During the battle a single Imperial CR90 Corvette was taken down by a New Republic strike team, only to crash on the local planet. Members of the 501st Legion managed to escape in pods, but were going to be stranded by the fleet's withdraw. Taking a team with him to provide rescue in the time their forces are away, Krieg descends to the planet.
Survival in a Hostile Land
"Logic and survival tells us that we need to work together."
-Krieg Inrokana to Wrista Ipex
Upon reaching the planet's surface, Krieg took an assessment of their situation to find that the supplies brought from the HIMS Inquisitor were tainted. Still, this did not stop him from leading recon elements into the jungles and forest to recover their downed pilots and troops.
Approximately a week later their fortified camp came under scrutiny of the local wildlife. Knowing they didn't have enough firepower to fight of the Rancors that have laid sights upon them, he was forced to evacuate his camp. This was at the same point where he came across Lieutenant Wrista Ipex, the ranking New Republic commander. In an offer of mutual support she proposed a merging of camps, allowing the Imperials to come under their umbrella of safety and support. Krieg knew if they were going to make it out he had to agree, to which he did.
Over the next week and even during the week prior, he did not eat a single thing - instead he gave it back to his troops. It also went to show that he did not eat anything the New Republic offered as he would rather starve than be poisoned or supposedly bribed by the enemy. Eventually the New Republic survivors were rescued, leaving the Imperials with enough supplies to last at least another week. Entering the third week of no food, Krieg was growing weak and took ill, not to be seen by his troops until their own rescue forces arrived. Being brought back aboard his command vessel, the HIMS Inquisitor, Krieg mustered enough strength to march victoriously off the shuttle to the echoing cheers of his forces.
17-18 ABY History
Minor Operations
With the success of the Dathomir Ambush, Task Force Inquisitor was brought back to Coruscant for R&R along with re-supply and repairs. It wasn't long before he was ordered to take the Task Force and perform internal security within the Empire. In conjunction with these orders he sought out the base of operations for most smugglers on Tatooine and led the intelligence and interdiction mission of smugglers. Successfully dampening the smuggler threat he was ordered to bring the Task Force to Corellia where planning of operations against small enemy units would commence. At the same time Corellia would serve as a base of operations for maintaining security and stability in the region.
During their time at Corellia he ordered a representative be sent to a pleasure cruise line to negotiate a recreation deal on behalf of Task Force Inquisitor. In light of the successful negotiations, the cruise liner arrived in orbit to commence a week long celebration for all members of the Task Force, the bill being footed by the Imperial military and a gracious donation from the Corellian government.
The Decay of the Empire
Ever since the last battle of Coruscant he has taken note of the degenerating state of the Empire. There were ever increasing tensions with the Moffs in their sectors and the Emperor's command, as well as a more apathetic approach to the New Republic. In fact, he saw that there were many times that the New Republic could be crushed outright but were not. In light of this, he sought out the best and brightest commanders throughout the military, some friends and other loyal counterparts. Meeting with them on individual worlds and command ships in his duties to the Task Force, he eventually garnered enough support to form a secret organization, the Order of the Phoenix - aptly named for what he forsaw coming.
Strike Force Havoc
Strike Force Havoc was formed under a tactical strategy session in early 18 ABY by then Marshal Inrokana. The proposal was so widely accepted by Imperial High Command that they immediately granted the request. The plan also included the introduction of the Empire's newest warship created at the MAW installation under Inrokana's command, a revolutionary first for the Empire. The plan called for the assembly of the Force at Carida, while the other forces already in place along the Empire-Sith border continued to defend until a full out assault forward could be made. In conjuction with the Strike Force's approval, Imperial High Command also promoted Marshal Inrokana to Force Marshal.
Initially the command ship for Strike Force Havoc, the Sovereign, was the core and foundation for the force. Built at the MAW Installation at Kessel. This Star Dreadnaught would serve as the command ship to Force Marshal Inrokana. As the Force assembled, different sub-command ships were appointed to various leaders in the force to divide the command and control amongst the various vessels. The planned layout of the force was adaptive to the situation, and other ships could generally be added for temporary duty to engage more significant threats. In the provisions for creating the force, Force Marshal Inrokana included the broad ability to tap the resouces from various Moffs for the explicit purpose of engaging the New Sith Order.
