Second Battle Of Kashyyyk
The Empire's great campaign of 9 ABY was now over, Coruscant in Imperial hands and the Imperial focus now shifted to fortifying their recently acquired territory. However, in late 10 ABY, the Empire attacked New Republic-held Kashyyyk, which had recently rioted against the Republic.
The Republic defense force was quick to withdraw, but ground resistance was tough, forcing the Empire to use nerve gas on entrenched rebel troops and use an orbital attack to flatten the New Republic GroundOps base stationed there. Eventually, the battle was won, and the Empire withdrew from the system after gaining assurances that Kashyyyk would leave the Republic for good.
